Truckee Calvary ChapelBoard,
Bob and I are so pleased that Jim and Anna will be joining us for ministry in Belize sometime in the near future. Belize is a lovely country with many poor people. There is a huge opportunity for ministry in Belize and a great spiritual need. Jim and Anna have gifts that can greatly benefit our country and the StannCreek District.
We have been praying for two years that God would bring someone to Belize that would have a heart for the lost. I had been praying that someone with musical abilities would be perfect since the people here love music. Jim and Anna have already shown their gifts to Belize on three separate occasions through music and dance, and they have been received very enthusiastically. On this last trip, they had more opportunities to share the Lord in teaching, music and dance. It is not hard to get them booked into a church, school or central park.
People in Belize invariably will admit they believe in Jesus as the Savior, but they don't live for Jesus, and they do not have much Biblical teaching. There is also a great need to draw the youth to the Lord, and already Jim and Anna have been used for this purpose. Jim’s method of ministry and his experience go along perfectly with the needs in Belize.
We have no hesitations that the Lord is behind Jim and Anna’s desire to come to Belize, and we are excited to see how God is answering our prayers. We look forward to our first open air worship concert, people being saved and to seeing many people learn how to live their lives for God.
Belize needs people who love the Word and do not hesitate to share it in Word and in music, and Jim and Anna will be used abundantly by our Lord here.
We are blessed,
Bob and Maricia |

Dear Friends,
We are excited to share with you the calling the Lord has recently placed upon our lives. After serving Jesus with all our heart, mind and soul at Calvary Chapel of Truckee since 1979, and as a pastor on staff for 14 years, the Lord is leading us to become full-time missionaries in Belize, Central America. Being a missionary is not new to us: In 1980 we started traveling with a band called Heartbeat until 1986. In 1988, we began spreading the good news throughout the western United States with Truckee Graphite and The Sonrise Dance Company. We started going to Mexicali, Mexico in 1989 and served once a year there for about 15 years. Beginning in 1998 and 1999 the Lord took us abroad to the Philippines, in 2000 Los Barriles,Mexico, in 2001 Maui and then Belize for the last couple of years. After four short-term mission trips to Belize, it has become evident that there is a need for Bible-based teaching in the Belize and especially in the Placencia Peninsula , as well as spreading God's love by working with the children of Seine Bight, Placencia, Independence and evangelizing the area. We desire to plant a church in Seine Bight and working with Pastors in the area to try and teach them how to teach the word and share their faith. The Lord has put it upon our hearts to move to Belize as full-time missionaries, and we are responding to that call within this next year.
We are seeking those who will also respond to that call to minister to Belize. We need a team of people in our lives who will pray, who will encourage, and who will support us. We believe we are called to this mission, but not alone. As Romans 10:15 says, "How will they preach unless they are sent?" Those who serve as senders are as equally important as those who go on the mission field. We cannot express to you enough about how we consider MissionBelize a team ministry. Would you prayerfully seek the Lord to discover if He is calling you to join MissionBelize with your prayers and support? We are grateful for your prayers and pray that God will richly bless you and make His face to shine upon you.
Love in Christ,
Jim and Anna Mensie

A LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR
June 20, 2006
To Whom It May Concern,
Jim and Anna Mensie have been a wonderful part of our fellowship for virtually its entire existence. In 1979 they rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ, and were with me when we started Calvary Chapel of Truckee in 1981. Over that entire time they have served willingly and tirelessly for the sake of the gospel. They have stood beside me through the lean years as well as the years of abundance.
In 1992 Jim became our worship leader here at Calvary Chapel and God used him, and Anna, to bring a true spirit of worship into our body. I like to say that before God raised up Jim as our worship leader, we just pretty much sang songs. I had been praying that the Lord would make us a worshipping church, and I can honestly say that God has used Jim and Anna to bring us into that place of genuine worship as a body. Their hearts to love and worship the Lord are infectious! During this time he has also been my “right hand” man. Jim has willingly and humbly served in any way that he could; in any capacity that I might ask of him. He has been the most loyal and faithful assisting pastor that any pastor could hope for. Jim and Anna have blessed this body in many ways and we all will be sad to see them go.
It is obvious to me that they have received a genuine call from the Lord to ministry in Belize. I can see it so clearly in Jim’s heart and eyes. He remains ever faithful to the ministry here, but truly God is calling him to serve Him in Belize. It is with a sincere heart that I can totally commend Jim and Anna the ministry to which they are called. All I can say is, if you are so led, this is a couple that is worth getting behind!
In His service,
Brian Larson, Pastor |
